bathroom mirror defoggers. With the defoggers, you can be sure that your bathroom mirror is free from fog when
you step out of your shower.
How it works:
The electronic defoggers give you the advantage of freeing up time, since you do not have to
blow dry, wait, or wipe your mirror after bathing. Now, you can put on your makeup, shave, insert contact lenses,
style your hair, etc, without the need to wait for the mirror to be free of fog. A defogger provides heat that is at
body temperature or slightly higher across the surface of the mirror to prevent condensation.
Once you install the unit, you flick a switch and the defogger will do the rest. The device
connects to the light switch, which when you turn on the bathroom light the defogger will instantly activate.
However, your wall need to be proper insulated.

device will cover the surrounding areas, thus defogging your mirrors. You can drill holes on the wall or
adhesive strips to mount a defogger.
Defoggers are easy to install. It has an attached heater, which is installed in an electronic
box or metal foil depending on the brand. The unit is then hard-wired to the bath defogger. Next, you
mount the defogger on the wall, just behind your mirror. Before you start to install, you need to check with
your local law if you need to have a licensed electrician to install it.
Defoggers run from 75 watts to 110-watt depending on the brand. You have the option of
using the same power source as your lighting fixture or you can run a separate line from your junction box
to the defogger. You have to make sure the defoggers are tested to CSA international standards.
How much do the defoggers cost?
It depends where you purchase the bath defoggers. Generally, a defogger cost anywhere
between $35 to more than $100. We recommend you compare the pricing of various brand to find a good
bargains. Keep in mind however; quality is important. If you find generics, you may find better deals, yet how
long will the unit last? What you should look for are safe to use, good quality, reliable and are from reputable
manufacturer.
